If you have not received them, do collect asap from your respective comm heads.

Please note that the following are COMPULSORY:

1. Tetanus jab
If you have taken this before when you were much younger, please approach a doctor and ask if there is a need to take it again. It is really for your own good to take it before going for this trip.

The teachers recommend Tan Tock Seng Hospital Travellers' Clinic, it might be cheaper there.

For those who have not taken the jab before, it is compulsory to take it.

2. Malaria pills
Tell the doctor that you will be going for a week and he should give you about four weeks of medication. It should be taken once a week, before, during and after the trip.

3. Check blood type
For people who are unsure of their blood type, please check it as well.

The above 3 are compulsory, others such as flu jabs are recommended but not that necessary. Please note that page 2 of the form has to be filled up by yourself and it has to be signed and stamped by a doctor as well as your parents.

Forms are to be returned to your comm heads by 26 October. Please indicate your committee beside your name e.g. Chan Wai Ching (A)
Comm heads please pass them to either Shiyi or Tricia from Admin.

Thank you!

Waiching

Hey OCIPers! Some changes and reminders of note:

-Cohort size is 80+, not 200 as mentioned previously. Each class has around 20 students.

-Tetanus immunisation jab and malaria pills are compulsory and typhoid jab on the recommended list, do get them only after promos.

-Travelling sickness pills and energy bars can be brought.

-Children will wake up around 5+ and us at 6 latest. (Sun rises early) And they eat dinner at 6 pm and sleep soon after so ICs and AICs pls take note if u've factored in evening activities. The evening concert will go on as per normal though.

-Packing list will be given at the parents-teachers session most probably so for those worrying abt it, here you go.

-Calling all first aiders and those with an interest/prior experience! Our trip will need 5 first-aiders from the 45 of us and to those who're interested or already hve first-aid certification, inform ur respective subcomm ics or Wai Ching directly.

-Attire for all OCIPers will have to be the same on the first day, the last day and during the concert.

-Regarding the shift in schedule, pls refer to Elroy's entry for more info.

Anyway thanks and kudos for all your lovely draft proposals ICs and AICs. There will not be any more planning till after promos coz time is of the essence for promos prep right now.

All the best for promos people, let's do well together! =]

Alex

Hey all,

We've received some news about the Jetstar flights. Jetstar cancelled the morning flight on 23 Nov and asked if we would like to change it to 23 Nov night, which means we will have one less working day over at Cambodia. So they provided another alternative and that was to have the trip from 21 Nov - 30 Nov. Please check with your parents if they are alright with these dates. This would mean 10 days at Cambodia instead of the original 9.

We will have to confirm with Mr Lim before we put up anymore new announcements. Currently we already have two OCIPers who will not be able to make it on 21 Nov due to Japanese exams in the afternoon. Thus, the dates may change again. From what we know, as long as one person cannot make it, we'll change, cos we cannot be leaving that person behind.

There'll be a parent meeting session one/two weeks before the trip so that your parents will be updated. However, the dates are again not confirmed yet.

For now, let's mug hard together for the PROMOS (:

good luck OCIPers!

Yes, a blog for the OCIPers 2006. This is going to be the place where we will post our announcements, other than using the email definitely. Do check your email often and visit this blog when you have the time.

We've confirmed our Project Name: The L Factor
and our Mission Statement: Learn, Love & Laugh

Regarding notebooks, we are trying to get cheap and nice notebooks. Azone one most probably.

We are to make our own T-Shirts for the trip. We are thinking of making 2 white T-Shirts and we need designs. Thus we need each committee to come up with 2 designs each by Monday 11 September. Also, if you have any manufacturers in mind, do pass their contacts to your respective Group I/Cs. The design must consist of "The 'L' Factor 2006" as well as the VJC logo (not on the sleeve).

Lastly, there will be a short meeting with ALL OCIPers on Monday 11 September at the Gym Alley at 0715 hours. Please bring along $20 and pass them to your Group I/Cs. This amount will be used for all miscellaneous expenses such as T-Shirts and Fundraising merchandise. You will be able to claim back this $20 after we get the money from the teachers.

*IMPORTANT: Things to do over the holidays:
- Come up with 2 designs for the T-Shirts per subgroup. Please indicate your preferred T-Shirt colour. Note that increase in colours may lead to an increase in price.

- Photocopy your timetable and pass them to your respective Group I/Cs. This will be needed for Fundraising and it will start pretty soon after the hols. Please indicate your name and the Group (e.g. Finance) you are from at the top right hand corner of the paper.

- Do start on your reflections. The reflections done now will be transferred over to your notebook once you get them. For Exco, extra reflections have to be done regarding you and your post.

Okay that's all. Do check your mails often. I'll be sending you all the contact list for the entire OCIP as soon as possible.

Thanks.

Regards,
Waiching
